7. About Us
1. How was the 3D City
Ground Created?
It was created using a package called 3D Studio Max, which is used in
everything from computer games to feature films. The design was created
predominantly from photographs of the ground and applied using simple
measurements to the 3D environment. Seating plans of all 4 stands were
also used to get the correct seat numbers. We would like to thank all
individuals who provided us with photographs during the construction
of the site, including James Sawdon, John Rockliffe and Mark Walshe,
who went out of their way to help.
The ground took around 300 hours to complete.
2. Why was the site created?
Before buying a ticket at any sporting event, you often
wonder what the view will be like and whether you will be getting value
for money. We felt that a site like this would take that element of
worry and risk out of a purchasing tickets and would bring piece of
mind.
On a more basic level however, the 3DCG was a labour
of love. When developing skills in a certain area (such as 3D design),
you may as well use a subject close to your heart. The 3DCG was the
first piece of 3D work I ever did... Nothing like starting off small
is there!?!?
3. How accurate is the design?
As the ground was created largely from photographs,
rather than architectural plans, there is a little room for error within
the designs. However, the designs are still extremely accurate.
4. Can I use the images on my site?
By all means, feel free to use the images on your site,
or link to the site. All we ask is that if you do use our images, please
state where the images came from, somewhere on the page.
5. Can you make something similar
for me or my company?
My design company (Virtual
Designs) is responsible for both the site design and the 3D artwork
on this site. If you would like any artwork or web design work doing,
please contact us via email
6. What is the "Active
Content" my web browser is blocking on your site?
The advertisements on the right of the page and also
the buttons in the menu bar both include active content, which some
browsers may attempt to block. This does not include anything harmful,
such as spyware, so don't worry. If you have any more questions, feel
free to contact us for reassurance.

Although proud of the 3DCG, the quality of work produced
has improved greatly in the 5 years since this site was created.
